Shane Taylor Abram

Shane Taylor Abram passed away Sunday, August 14th, 2022 after the most courageous battle with Kidney Cancer. Shane was born on April 5th, 1981 to Matthew Abram and Pamela (Woyan) Newcome and raised by them and Wanda (Fitch) Abram in Columbus, Ohio. A proud westsider, Shane attended Westland High School where he graduated in 1999.

An effervescent light in any room, Shane had a magnetic personality that drew people to him. His unique style earned him the nickname 'Socks' at work, where he was a CDL Truck Driver for USF Holland and a proud member of Teamster Local 413. In addition to his work family, Shane made friends everywhere he went, especially while participating in his favorite hobbies; kayaking, djing, playing almost any instrument he picked up, and collecting vinyl records.

Despite his many accomplishments there was nothing that made Shane prouder than his children. He was an amazing father who reveled in the time he got to spend having adventures or just relaxing at home with his kids. He always encouraged them to be true individuals and couldn't wait to find out who they'd grow up to be.

Shane is survived by his parents, Matt and Wanda Abram of Columbus, his mother Pam Newcome of Columbus, his beloved wife and rock Ashley Abram of Sunbury, his children Aubry (Riley) Pletcher of Pataskala, Layla and Henry Abram of Sunbury, and their mother Alexis Abram of Pataskala, his brother Brandon (Sydney) Abram of Galloway, sister Jessica (Travis) McAninch of West Jefferson, his cherished Grammy Jessie Huff of Columbus, In-Laws Bill and Veda Green of Mount Vernon, Brother-in-Law Adam (Terese) Larkin of Sunbury, Nieces: Remi Abram, Abi Larkin, Kynlie Stevers, and Nephew Brayden Stevers, Grandmothers Connie Abram and Gloria Thompson of Columbus, Fur Babies Penelope, Chimi, Zeus, and Thurman along with many more Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and treasured friends.

A memorial and celebration of Shane's life will be held on September 10th, 2022 from 3pm-6pm at his home in Sunbury. All are welcome, please contact family for address information. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Franklin County Dog Shelter to support all the pit bulls that Shane wished he could adopt.
