Robert Lee "Alex, Bob" Alexander II

Robert Lee ‘Alex, Bob” Alexander II, 72, passed away on June 6, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1951, in Columbus, to the late Robert and Patricia (Stevenson) Alexander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Alexander.

Bob received his education at St. Michael School in Worthington and later attended Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus. He furthered his studies at The Ohio State University before pursuing specialized training at the Post Office Training Center in Oklahoma.

With a deep sense of duty, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years, followed by his service in the Army National Guard. He excelled as a Military Aircraft Mechanic and Electronics expert.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob found immense joy in his hobbies. He was a passionate History Buff and dedicated Genealogist, always eager to uncover the stories of the past. His love for Traveling and exploring took him far and wide, often with his camera in hand to capture the beauty of the world. Yet, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, cherishing every moment together.

He was also a man of many passions, but none more so than his love for Running. He dedicated himself to training and participated in marathons across the country. And when it came to indulgence, Bob had a weakness for chocolate ice cream and dark dark chocolate.

Above all, Bob was a devoted family man. He was always available and present, offering unwavering support and love to his children and grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Diane “Rece” Alexander; children, Erica (Jessica) Alexander, Inga (David) Bodine, Robert (Jennifer) Alexander, Michael (Renee) Alexander, and Rebecca (Robert) Troxell; grandchildren, Ashley, Isaac, Alexis, Bailey, Robert, and Tristan; and numerous extended family and close family friends.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 10am until 12pm, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 12pm. After, family and friends are invited to Alum Creek State Park on Main Street from 1:30pm until 4:30pm for Lunch.
