Raj Kumar Pilli, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, departed from this world on May 5, 2024, in Worthington, Ohio. He was born on June 1, 1965, in Kakinada, India, to Raja Prasada Rao Pilli and Grace Lilly Flora Pilli.
Raj pursued his education with determination, earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Andhra University. He embarked on a fruitful professional journey, excelling as a Senior Developer at Nationwide, Vice President at Chase, and Senior Software Specialist at Alliance Data.
His contributions were not limited to his career; Raj was an active member of The Church Next Door and Genoa Church, where he enriched the community through his participation in various events and volunteering efforts. He was also a member of multiple badminton clubs, a cricket club, and engaged in volunteering roles at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, YWCA, and Lower Light Ministries.
Raj's interests were as diverse as his accomplishments. He found joy in badminton, landscaping, gardening, grilling, chess, volleyball, cornhole, and the beauty of nature. His infectious enthusiasm and legendary dance moves made him the life of every gathering.
Raj's most cherished moments were spent with his family, especially during their Sunday lunches after church and various family vacations to destinations around the world. These gatherings symbolized love, laughter, and familial bonds that will be treasured forever. Raj also treasured his long-lasting and continued relationship with his Christian Telugu Bible Fellowship (CTBF) and Columbus Ambassadors For Christ (CAFC) groups, in which they met every Saturday night for Bible study and fellowship. In these groups, Raj had found his closest friends.
He will be remembered for his generosity, caring nature, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. Raj leaves behind a legacy of friendship, laughter, and kindness that will endure through the memories he created.
Raj is survived by his devoted wife Rina Clementia Pilli, his adoring children Ruchir Raj Pilli and Tarun Raj Pilli, his mother-in-law Murial Jayashree, his siblings Sudhir Kumar, Jeevana, Sujatha, and Vasanthi, along with their respective spouses, nieces, nephews, and his beloved pet, Joy Pilli.
A private time for close family and friends will be held from 8:30 am to 9:00 am on Wednesday, May 15th, at The Church Next Door. A public viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
