Matthew was a graduate of Franklin Monroe High School (91) and The Ohio State University (Classics, 98). He was also a longtime employee of The Ohio State University, working for many years in the Department of Sociology and more recently in ASC Tech. He loved OSU football and put everything aside to watch their games. Matthew was an avid runner, running five days a week and completing many marathons. He loved hiking, camping with Karlyn and Stella, and fly fishing. Every spring Matthew planted a large vegetable garden. He was particularly proud to have won first place for his peppers at the 2024 Franklin County Fair. He loved trains and building model train sets. Matthew also enjoyed woodworking, and spent time teaching Stella to use woodworking tools to create projects for Invention Convention.
Matt was a beautiful, thoughtful, kind, and loving husband and father. He was a dedicated father to Stella, and it shows in the person she is and who she is becoming.
A celebration of life for Matthew will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
