Gerald T. Hallenbeck

Gerald T. Hallenbeck, 79, of Powell, passed away on December 10, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, born in Catskill, New York, to the late Gerald R. Hallenbeck and Gertrude T. Hallenbeck. Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Hallenbeck.

A proud alumnus of Duke University, he went on to earn his MBA from Stanford University. His career included 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy, where he retired as a Commander. He then went on to make significant contributions as the CFO for the University of Minnesota’s Law School, Pharmacy College, and Business College.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria; daughters Melanie Nield and Carrie (Henry) Nerida; grandchildren Seth Nield and Peyton Nerida; brother, Prentiss (Marj) Hallenbeck; and eight nieces and nephews, along with their children. His cherished miniature schnauzer, Sadie, was a constant companion by his side.

Jerry’s love for music, golf, history, football, and horse racing was evident to all who knew him.
