Known simply as Betty to her family and close friends, she was born to the late Leo and Roselean (Erard) Knox in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. As a young girl Betty shared a passion for figure skating and competed in several distinquished community pageants. She attended Sault High School (called Soo High School by the locals) in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life, Keith Jenkins while serving in the Air Force. They married in June of 1958 settling in Ohio.
Betty was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her passion and commitment to her family were at the forefront of her life. She enjoyed cooking, baking (especially Christmas cookies), dancing, scrapbooking, reading, coloring, spoiling her many grandchildren and her cat Mindy. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays because it gave her a chance to transform her home into a magical wonderland filled with family and love.
Left to cherish Betty's memory is her loyal and loving husband of 64 years Keith Jenkins. Her sister Mary Ann (Virgil) Norman of Ohio. Keith and Betty's three children; Kevin (Patrice) Jenkins, Ken (Chad) Jenkins, and Keli (Matt) Beecroft. Four grandchildren; Melissa, Connor, Katie and Jack. Five great-grandchildren; Kasey, Nora, Janie, Micah and Cody.
Including her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her two brothers; Joe (Joyce) Knox of Wisconsin and Paul John (Sharon) Knox of Michigan.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, OH 43085 at 11am with a time of fellowship to follow. A private internment will take place immediately following the service.
