I just learned of Phil's passing and am really saddened to hear. We were great friends living in Nashville working together for Moore. We had so much in common including attending WKU. In all our discussions they usually ended with talking about his two children that he just adored. I remember when Evan was born and how proud he was of him. I met Phil through Eve and instantly liked him.  We all  had so many fun times together; in Florida (beach bumming and air boating),  Georgia (zip lining) , Alabama (wedding fun)  and Texas (Grilling and imbibing)  together.  Phil had such a sharp wit an easy smile, and was a true friend to all.




So sad to hear about Phil's passing. I worked with Phil for quite some time in the Moore/RRD BCS family. Phil was very engaged in his work, his caring spirit for those in his path and took great care of his customer relationships. 

Clearly, he was loved by many. 

My deepest condolences and prayers to Phil's family, children and grandchildren. Phil was one of a kind and will be missed. 



Phil, my friend...I never took the opportunity to tell you how much  those random "Yo man" calls really meant to me. Even after all of these years and all of the miles we've traveled in so many different directions, every so often the phone would ring and you were there to just say hello and ask if I was okay. Often it was that call, at just the right moment, that lifted me up from a bad day or some bad experience and it only took a few minutes with you on the phone to make things right again. And that trip to Hawaii...

You were certainly one of a kind, the best kind, but more than that you have always have been a true friend. My sincere condolences to Phil's  family and loved ones. 

I worked with Phil for years, and adored him.  He was always so full of life, and quick with a joke.... so funny and always making people smile.  I worked a conference with Phil just last year, and customers that hadn't seen him for years came by and hugged him...and Phil would quickly tell me all about their kids and family.  He was truly loved by all. I have also known Eve Travelstead for years.  It was so great to see them both so happy together.  I'm so sorry that his time on Earth with Eve, family, and friends was cut short. He will be missed.....Heaven got a great one.

There are no words to express the shock and sorrow I've experienced since learning of Phil's loss. I came to know Phil through my dear friend Eve, and so enjoyed sharing meals and many fun times with them. We experienced an instant kinship because of our mutual interest in all things sports. I can't imagine not having Phil to discuss football, basketball, golf,....he would even indulge me occasionally to talk about the major tennis tournaments. What a huge and knowledgeable sports fan he was! Dinners, parties, casual get togethers -- I could just look at Phil and laugh. His sense of humor was so dry and witty, and I can see him right now with that mischievous and impish grin of his. Phil's passing will leave a huge void in Eve's life, and he'll be missed so by all of us who came to know and love Phil through Eve. My thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort are with Eve and all of Phil's family whom he loved so dearly. God Bless you Phil, Rest in Peace. 

I am deeply saddened to hear of Phil's passing. I worked with Phil at Moore, and we remained friends for all of these years. Phil was one of those friends that you could go a year without speaking to him and pick up right where you left off. He was always fun and witty, and very serious about his family. It must be a great comfort to the family to know how much he loved you. 

Several months back, Phil sent a picture to me of us during one of the good times we had at a Moore Club in Hawaii. I will cherish that picture and those memories and think of him often. I have truly lost a treasured friend.

I am heart broken to hear of Phil's passing. What a great guy! He was there for my son when he lost his father, and he was there for me when I lost my son. He loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He sent me a picture of you all just the other day.  I sure will miss him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I worked with Phil for over 13 years, spoke to him nearly every day and got to know him well.  Phil had a quick wit, so no matter how busy or stressful work would get, we’d usually end up laughing about something.  I’ll miss those conversations.  
Phil always talked about his family and it was clear how much he loved you all, and how proud he was of his children and grandchildren.   I could hear in his voice how happy he was being "Pa" and spending time with his grandkids.   May those memories help you find comfort and peace.



Phil was such a wonderful man, liked by everyone that met him. I only got to spend a few times with him because he and Eve couldn’t make it to Houston that often,  but I will always remember him being there for my 80th birthday party! His contributions to hosting and entertaining a house full of German’s added a lot to that special day! It was always obvious that Eve and Phil cared deeply for each other. Eve always talked about the wonderful times they had, and there was always the next visit to look forward to.My deepest sympathies to my daughter and both sides of their families.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Phil was such a good friend, he was always available to friends at any time. I know he helped me make sense of another friends passing and he always wanted to tell friends about his children. You are all in my thoughts.

I feel honored and blessed that Eve introduced you into our lives.  We had such great memories and I will cherish each one.  How ironic that on Facebook today, this memory came up.  We will miss you Phil!!  Love, The Garcia's.

Duane and I are so saddened by his loss. As many of us are, we are still in shock. He was such a fun and vibrant guy to be around. We always had such a good time hanging out with Phil and Eve . You could always expect those times to be laid back and full of laughs.  Too many silly jokes to share and many would not get. But we will always have those memories to laugh about.  He is already greatly missed.

I will miss him so much. I am thankful for the times we got to share, especially just 10 days ago.  I am shocked and heart-broken for the sudden loss. Phil was a great friend of mine and I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing.   Andrea, Evan and family you should hold close to you the fact that your father was so proud of both of you.  We spoke at least 2-3 times a week for the last 15+ years, and you and your children were always prevalent in our conversations.  He loved you all so deeply and cherished his time with you.

What a shock to hear of Phil's sudden passing! Phil and I met through a common employer and shared the best of times, both through business and outside of work. Phil was very successful and moved around with the company. We had the good fortune of always making a way to get together. 
Phil loved his family and friends so much and he will be sorely missed!

I was sorry to hear of Phil’s passing.  We were neighbors growing up.  At our high school reunion at few weeks ago, Phil and I shared a few stories about our backyard baseball games.  He told me about his kids and how much he loved them.  Many prayers for his family.  

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Phil in person I felt I knew him as well as anyone.   We spoke 2 or 3 times per week discussing shop and whatever current sport was in season.  Although his blood ran Kentucky blue and mine runs Indiana red, we were able to respect our differences most of the time.... although I can't count the number of times he called me a "hater" for wishing ill will to Kentucky basketball.   It was strange this morning not to have our Monday morning quarterback call discussing the outcome of this past weekend's college football games and the pending match up in 12 days between our respective alma maters (Ball State and Western Kentucky).   My deepest sympathy to his family he has left behind whom he loved so much.   His RRD family is mourning as well today and his loss will be felt for a very long time.

Phil was a great guy. Knew him when I lived in Towne Lake 15 years ago. Always enjoyed his company. Sad he left us too early. My prayers are with his family. Journey on my friend. Peace

A few of his friends have been swapping stories since we heard the devastating news of Phil’s passing. We all agree he was a sharp dresser. He was “Mr. GQ”, even back in high school as Homecoming King  with Lisa Devillez Carter as Homecoming Queen. 😂

I had the pleasure of working with Phil for 20 years.  In that time we became friends and our association was often more about friendship than work.  I admired his love for his family.  He spoke of you in almost every conversation we had.  He was so proud of you and felt privileged to be your father and grandfather.  His smile was infectious and attitude uplifting.  I'm proud to have been his friend.  Let's think of him fondly and often even as we miss him.  I'm certain his love for you continues with his passing. 

Phil and I grew up across the street from one another, spending many days playing sports or trading baseball cards.  Later we both attended WKU, but lost touch after college as we both left KY.  We just reconnected at our HS reunion last month, spending a few nights sharing memories and catching up - and no one could have been prouder of his children and grandchildren than Phil.  Our conversations centered on family, past and present, and I’ll be forever thankful for that time together. Rest In Peace my friend.  

Andrea, Justin & family, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Andrea's father.   I have never met him, but looking at his pictures I can't help but smile.  I would imagine that his grandchildren both  caused & loved that smile.  Andrea, hang on to all of your memories and share them with your children as they grow.  May your Dad...…... Rest in Peace.

I could not believe it when I heard the news.   I had the pleasure of working with Phil for several years and every conversation we had I could always count on his candor and humorous spirit.   He always made me smile with his constant one liners and perspective no matter the topic.  
My heart goes out to the family and please know that anytime Phil talked about his family he always lit up with excitement and pride.
The passing of time will help deal with the physical loss however the passing of time will never erase the wonderful memories that will live into infinity.  

I am sorry to hear of Phil’s passing. I worked with Phil for many years and considered him a good friend. Most recently I saw him while we were in Chicago. He rode back to the airport with me so we had a chance to talk and catch up. He spoke fondly of his family and was such a proud father and grandfather. I know his family will miss him dearly. 

Phil has been a lifelong friend and I will miss him dearly.  I cherish my memories of him, especially the most recent ones from our high school reunion a month ago.  The last time I spoke with him he was playing with his grandchildren, whom he adored.  May Phil rest in eternal peace.  I pray for God's guidance and comfort for all who loved him, especially his children and grandchildren.

Philip was always a good friend in middle and high school.   Enjoyed the classes w had together and seeing him again at our 37th and 40th school reunion.
