Paul is survived by his wife Joanne Giles, sons Gary Paul Giles and Jon Paul Giles. He is also survived by his cousin Allen Barber and niece Dody Henson along with his grandchildren Keaton Giles, Abigail Giles, Aria Giles, Adele Giles. Paul was predeceased by his parents Charlie Floyd Giles and Willie Mae McWorter and brother Floyd Giles.
Paul was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1945 and moved shortly after to Georgia. He served our country in the Air Force including a tour in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Air Force Paul joined Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Ga. Paul dedicated 40 years to Lockheed, and this career brought him all over the world, from Saudi Arabia to Germany as well as time in Africa. He was an extremely talented Billiards player, and some would say could give Minnesota Fats a run for his money. You could find Paul on Lake Allatona with his family and friends almost every weekend. The commitment that he gave to his wife and family were rivaled by none. He enjoyed seeing his family smile and thrive, whether he was helping Gary keep the Mercury Comet alive or cheering from the sidelines at Jon’s sporting events and even supporting Joanne along during her many years of soft ball or while she earned her black belt in Karate. Paul told everyone he was a “black belt in check writing”, usually just before he handed over a check to pay for an event or activity.
