Milus served honorably in the Air Force and retired after over 22 years. He received an extensive amount decorations, medals and awards, including the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Mr. Welch’s favorite pastimes were watching old war movies, fishing and working in his workshop. Along with his father, who was also his best friend, Milus made fishing weights, bookcases, and other woodworking masterpieces. With his extensive mechanical knowledge and talents, he was able to build a foyer in his home which only took three days and also built a garage.
Most of all, Mr. Welch loved spending time with his family. He was a dedicated and beloved husband to his wife for 55 years, and a loving father, grandfather and uncle.
Milus Wayne Welch has been reunited with his parents and his twin daughters, Betty Jane Welch and Carla Jean Welch. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Lovejoy Welch; children, Milus Wayne Welch II, Carl Lovejoy Welch and his wife Crystal, Stephen Welch and his wife Erica; grandchildren, CJ Welch, Bettie Welch Rankins, Stephen Lovejoy Welch, Kaleb Austin Lovejoy Welch, Gabriella Grace Welch; and sister, Nancy Schultz.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service to honor the life of Bud at 12:00 PM. Mr. Welch will then go to his final resting place at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
