Louis was born September 2, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Louis L Horton and Gladys W. Jenkins. His wife, Nancy E. Horton and sister, Gladys W. Horton, preceded him in death. Louis was a graduate of John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA. He was drafted into the Army in 1960 and served as an Aircraft Mechanic. Upon returning from military service, Louis and Nancy were married in 1963 and together for 57 years until her death in 2020. Louis loved listening to music especially Bob Seger, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings. He enjoyed vacationing in warm destinations and visiting St. Simons Island, GA and Phoenix, AZ to spend time with family. Louis loved animals and he and Nancy enjoyed time spent with their fur babies. He loved his German Shephard Max and was often seen walking him in the neighborhood. Louis enjoyed watching all sports, especially football and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a lifelong fan and would take his family to games at Veterans' Stadium.
Louis is survived by his 3 children: Timi Horton Hauk (Danny) of Allen, TX (formerly of St. Simons Island, GA); Glenn Horton of Tempe, AZ; and Lainie Fitzgerald (Andrew) of Woodstock, GA, 9 grandchildren: Schuyler Horton (Emiley), Isabella Sowerby, Andres Horton, Amara Horton, Angelina Duke, Madelyne Duke, Averie Warren, Jordan Fitzgerald, and Nora Fitzgerald, and 2 great-grandchildren: Harley Horton and Georgia Horton. Louis was a resident of Ridley Park, PA ( 1965-1980), Lexington, KY (1980-1987) and Phoenix, AZ (1987-1991) prior to relocating to Woodstock, GA.
