Dennis Wayne Levinge, Senior, 77, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 08, 2024.
Dennis was born December 31, 1946, in Houston, Texas, and was the second child of Bernice Constance Levinge and Captain Claude Levinge. Dennis was an accomplished student and athlete, excelling in football and gymnastics through high school. At the University of Georgia, he lettered in men’s gymnastics while completing his undergraduate and master’s degrees. He participated in Army ROTC and was on the Pershing Rifle drill team. After receiving his BBA, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and later earned an MBA before serving at Ft. Benning, Georgia, until his honorable discharge.
A car enthusiast, Dennis enjoyed working on and racing cars at Road Atlanta. He initially worked in management at Southern Bell before retiring early to open his own automotive repair business, which he ran until his children were grown. Later in life, Dennis joined First Baptist Church of Woodstock, where he accepted Christ and was baptized.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Constance Levinge, his sister Jeanette Levinge Hullum, and his granddaughter, Emery Camille Funkhouser. He leaves behind his wife of 14 years, Janice Levinge, of Canton, GA; sons, Dennis Levinge Jr and his wife Erin Levinge of Cumming, GA, Michael Levinge and his wife Maggie Levinge of Atlanta, GA, Robert Levinge and his wife Ashley Levinge of Cumming, GA; daughters, Keely Funkhouser and her husband Phillip Funkhouser of Marietta, GA and Christine McCormack and her husband Blake McCormack of Royston, GA; grandchildren, Colin Funkhouser, Ellison Levinge, Monte McCormack, Dally McCormack, Lily Levinge, Emma Levinge, & Nora Levinge. He also leaves behind his 102-year-old father, Captain Claude Levinge of Canton, GA and younger brother Charlie Levinge and his wife Vivian Levinge, also of Canton, GA.

The funeral will be held at 12:00 PM December 11, 2024, at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA, 30188. Visitation is open from 10:30 – 12:00 at Woodstock Funeral Home.
