Bob Schroeder

Robert “Bob” Schroeder of Jasper, Georgia was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020. He was born on September 23rd, 1958 in West Haven, Connecticut son of Herbert and Patricia Schroeder.

After graduating from Cooper City High School in Cooper City, Florida, Bob served honorably in the Marine Corps for 4 years. He later worked as a Master Carpenter for Schroeder Enterprises Inc. with his father and most recently, as a Master Carpenter for SDG Construction. Bob used his love and talent for carpentry to design and build three of his homes, his most recent being his dream home for retiring in Jasper, GA with his wife, Bonnie. Bob met Bonnie in 1982 and instantly fell in love with her. Bob and Bonnie were married on April 7th, 1983. After five years of marriage, they were blessed with a daughter in August of 1988 and a son a few years later in December 1991.

Bob adored his children and was a model father for the two throughout their childhood, spending any spare time with them riding bicycles around the neighborhood, playing board games, watching movies and assistant coaching his son’s many baseball teams at SCRA. This love and dedication to his children expanded beyond their childhood years as he inevitably became not just a father, but a close friend to both his son and daughter.

Bob’s love for music and the meaning of the words of a song was something that both of his children inherited from him. Throughout his life, spending time on the front porch listening to the night roll in and playing his guitar was something that he loved to do, “It’s just so nice in the quiet,” he would always say. Bob also wrote a song for his daughter that he had played at her wedding in October 2017.

In addition to music, Bob loved spending his Sunday mornings at church with his daughter, the outdoors, his dogs and spending quiet time by a bonfire any chance that he was able to do so… Fall was his favorite time of the year.

Bob Schroeder is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie Schroeder; his daughter, Amanda Soderquist; his son, Christian Schroeder; his mother, Patricia Schroeder; his brother, Allen Schroeder; and his sister, Bonnie Sorrentino.

A memorial service to honor the life of Bob will be held in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home on September 26th at 6:00pm.
