Betty Louise Gibson

Betty Louise Johnson Gibson, 94 of Acworth, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at home with her family around. Born, October 20, 1926 in Bartley, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Cecil Moffett Johnson and Lucy Sharrett Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alva Winton Gibson, Jr., son, Alva Winton Gibson, III, daughter-in-law, Patricia Anne Baxter Gibson, and grandson Cecil Allen Gibson.

Betty was a much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She attended Bascomb United Methodist Church in Woodstock, GA where she enjoyed worshipping with family and fellowship with friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois Anne Gibson Croft and son-in-law, William Larry Croft of Acworth, son, Cecil Winton Gibson of Acworth, 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, a brother and sister in law, Tommy and Julianne Johnson, a sister, Jenny Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Bascomb UMC in Woodstock, GA. Visitation will be at 1pm with the service to follow at 2pm. Betty’s final resting place will be beside her beloved husband Alva “June” Gibson at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Betty’s honor to Bascomb United Methodist Church.
