Mathai Abraham

Monachen was a member of the Salem Marthoma Church in Kundara, Kerala, and was a Sunday School teacher.

He moved from Kerala to New Delhi to pursue further studies and work. He was a member of the New Delhi Marthoma Church and participated in the church choir. Monachen met Mariamma (Mercy), and they were married in New Delhi Marthoma Church in 1975.

Monachen moved to New York, U.S.A. in 1976. He was well known as a very hardworking person. He worked as an Auto Mechanic. He has been a member of the Epiphany Marthoma Church in Ozone Park, Queens since it was founded in NY.

Monachen and Mercy have three children: son Shinu & daughter-in-law Gigi, daughter Sherley & son-in-law Joseph & granddaughter Jasmine, and daughter Shiney.

Monachen was very loving and dedicated to his family and loved ones, and will be dearly missed by all.
