Ned was born and raised in Pittsfield, MA. Ned was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and furthered his education at Dartmouth College and Thayer School of Engineering, which laid the groundwork for his lengthy and successful career in Construction Engineering. His work in this field not only showcased his dedication and expertise but also his passion for engineering and analytical thinking. Later in life, he worked at Target and enjoyed assembling bikes for children and teaching tool skills to those younger than himself.
Beyond his professional life, Ned was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, golf, and bowling. A devoted Patriots fan, he also had a keen interest in college football and high school and college hockey.
Ned enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kate Dripps; daughter, Jennifer Durham (Michael); son, Garrett Dripps (Tabitha); Kate's children, Jill Krautkremer (Jake) and Sam Johnson; brother, Jim Dripps (Cathy); sisters, Ellen Dripps and Carol Schwalbe (Steve); and his 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosella Dripps, and his grandson, Nolan Durham.
In lieu of a memorial service, Ned's family encourages those who knew him to remember him with a smile and raise a glass at the 19th hole, honoring a life well-lived. Remember Ned for his robust laugh, strong opinions, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
