Leonard Carl Tanner

Leonard was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Mary Tanner (nee Whitecap); brothers Gary and Kenneth (Chuck) Tanner, best friend/sister Sandra Toto; nieces Cheyanne Toto and Shauna Tanner and nephew Dakota Toto.

He is survived by his sister Darlene Tanner; son Darrell Thompson; nieces: Deanna & Melanie Sparvier, Farrah Pelletier, Alison and Taneesha Tanner, Michelle and Jeanine George; nephews Kevin Tanner and Gary George; grandchildren Isaiah Dustyhorn, Jesse Dustyhorn, Drayden Toto, Kennan Toto, Makenna Dustyhorn, Jaydance Hotomanie, Bencen Lerat, Laneah Lerat, Sariyah Lerat; special niece, who he took as a daughter Karla Lerat (Derek); special close friend/niece Lindsay Franks (Jayden); good friend/brother Karl (Karlo) Lerat & nephew Jamie Lerat, along with many other numerous grandchildren, he was a mushum to many.

He was very kindhearted and generous, a very caring man with a big heart. He never hesitated to help those he loved, and his legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.

The wake was held in the Cowessess Hall, Cowessess First Nation on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service was held in the Cowessess Hall on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Steve Dorma and officiant Scapios Steven Still-Dorma. The pallbearers were Jesse Dustyhorn, Drayden Toto, Cody Frances, Dean Tanner, Brandon Mckenzie and Gary George. The interment followed in the Cowessess Cemetery.
