A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Doug was born Nov 25th, 1928 in Grenfell, SK to George and Katherine Grace (nee Moore) Welch. Doug met, then married his wife Lorna Hattie Kennedy in Redvers, SK in 1953. Over the course of their 64 year marriage they lived in Redvers, Summerberry, Bengough and Indian Head, had 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Shelly, Gregory (Betty), Kevin (Bev) and Darren Welch, his grandchildren Trevor (Holly) Rettman, Melissa (Corey) Johnson, Colton (Kara) Welch, Jordan (Connie) Welch and Daniel (Tiffany) Welch, his great grandchildren Cutlass and Cruiz Johnson and Jayden Welch.
Doug is preceded in death by his wife Lorna, his sibling Loreen Milne and his grandson Travis Rettman. They are together once again.
Doug was a man of honour with a deep sense of family and community.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire contributions may be made to the Indian Head Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, Box 564, Indian Head, SK S0G 2K0 as tokens of remembrance.
