It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Gray, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Lynn passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. While she left this world quietly, her life was anything but—filled with love, laughter, and the countless memories she created with those who knew her. Lynn had a magnetic personality and a gift for making friends wherever she went.
Lynn was predeceased by her dear husband, Thomas Gray, as well as her parents and siblings. She was also preceded in death by many dear friends and relatives who she loved deeply and missed greatly throughout her life. She leaves behind her children, Thomas Gray (Beth) of Waterbury, Cheryl and Frederick McCann of Southington, and Gary Gray (Erin) of Bristol. Lynn was a devoted grandmother to Stacey, Trish, Michael, Gillian & Finley (her beloved twins, who she could never brag about enough), Tommy, David, Daniela, Jennifer, Tony, Ashlie, and Thomas. She also leaves behind the spouses of her grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins .
Lynn shared a special bond with her daughter Cheryl, her devoted caregiver, with whom she lived her entire life. She also lived with Cheryl’s children, Stacey and Michael, and played a significant role in raising them. Stacey’s husband, Robert Hilton, and his parents Cheryl and Bob quickly became cherished members of her family.
Known for her quick wit, big heart, and incredible sense of humor, everyone loved Lynn. She was sweet as pie (unless you lived with her) but had a feisty streak that made her even more lovable. Lynn loved baseball and spent years of Gary’s childhood cheering him on in the stands. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan—she never missed a game, and she absolutely adored Big Papi. She enjoyed knitting, scrapbooking, reading, jigsaw puzzles, listening to doo-wop music, getting her nails done, and shopping. Lynn also loved snacking and sharing her snacks with the family dog, Charlie.
