Elaine Sadye (Haddad) Longo, 75, of Wolcott, Connecticut, beloved wife of Rocco Longo, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her home after a lengthy illness. Elaine was born on January 5, 1949 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Abdella "Al" and Violet (Dingwell) Haddad.
Elaine lived a life full of joy and love. Her most cherished times were in the company of her family, especially her three grandchildren. She was the epitome of a doting grandmother, always boasting of their accomplishments and so proud of the selfless young adults that they had blossomed into. Elaine was truly the glue that held the family together. The high morals and family traditions that she set by example will live on through her children and grandchildren for generations to come. She thoroughly enjoyed her various daytrips with her husband up to Maine. They frequented Kittery and Kennebunkport often, and Rocco will certainly continue to cherish those times with his beloved. Elaine loved to watch various crime and detective programs on television, always trying to solve the crime before the ending of the show revealed it. Elaine’s favorite season was autumn, and she always looked forward to the crisp air, chirping birds, and colorful foliage. When not enjoying the outdoors, she could also be found rooting for the Boston Red Sox while they played on television. Elaine was a selfless, genuine, and compassionate individual that was truly a friend to anyone who crossed her path. Her sincere smile and deep love of life will live in the hearts of her friends and family forever.
