Born on April 17, 1961, he was the only son of Eugenia and Charles J. Bunty of Fayetteville, NC. George was born in Bajo Corral, Panama and immigrated to the United States at eight-years-old. In his youth, he excelled as a student and athlete, lettering in both track and football.
George continued his education, earning a business degree from East Carolina University before pursuing his Masters in Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle University. After graduating, George served seven years in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Captain. Following his military career, he worked for the NASA Space Shuttle program, performing one of the final checks before each launch. In recent years, he worked as an executive in the power industry.
George was an active part of the vibrant Thornton Park and downtown Orlando communities. He loved to travel and visited more than 40 countries in his life. He will be remembered as a generous host and skilled salsa dancer.
George is survived by his parents, son, Christopher, daughter-in-law, Jenifer, and granddaughters, Ayla and Clara of Greenville, SC. Of all his accomplishments and adventures, George was proudest of his family. His granddaughters were the great loves of his life.
A visitation for George will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 501 E. Mitchell Hammock Road, Oviedo, Florida 32765, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
