Clara DiGiacomo, 82, born on June 23, 1942, in Camden, NJ was called to her eternal home on December 24, 2024, Orlando, FL, after a difficult battle with COPD. She was the beloved daughter of Nicholas and Helen DiGiacomo.
Clara was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Clara’s journey on this earth was not without trials, but she faced each one with dignity, strength and courage. Her life was marked by love for others, compassion, humility and unwavering determination. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Clara is survived by her brother Stephen and sister-in-law Sally; her children: daughter Catherine and son-in law Brad, son Bruce and daughter-in-law Terri and daughter Nicole and son-in-law Rus. Clara was a loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Nicholas, Brian, Sabrena Melissa, Alexis, Ian, Tyler, & Tanner, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind other family members and friends, and her treasured kitty Bella, all who will greatly miss her.
After her graduation from Triton High School in Runnemede, NJ, Clara started working as a skilled hair dresser and colorist. However, after developing allergies to the chemicals, she embarked on a career in the retail sector where, for more than four decades, she showed relentless passion to enhance the customer experience. With years of hard work, she continued to advance and held a variety of management and leadership positions before her retirement.
Those who knew Clara will remember her for her unmatched work ethic, unbridled strength and unlimited capacity to accept people for who they are. She had a rare gift as a great listener who always came to the conversation with an open heart and open mind. She was a faithful and loyal confidante, but would not hesitate to tell you the truth, especially when you needed to hear it the most.
Clara was an avid animal lover; there were always pets in her house including many rescued cats. Before her illness gave way to physical limitations, Clara enjoyed working in her yard and relaxing at the beach.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Clara will be held on January 16, 2025, visitation starting at 12:30 PM, with services at 2:00 pm. Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL 32792. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Clara’s name to the American Lung Association or to Pet Alliance Orlando
Although Clara's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love, strength and compassion in all that we do. As she begins her eternal rest in Heaven, she will be dearly missed, but her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
