Ruby Anna Smith

On her birthday in 1975, Ruby married the love of her life, Jessie Eugene Smith, and together they raised their family while she worked at a sewing factory. She was a caring mother and grandmother with a warm and bright personality who loved her family, gardening, and her church.

Ruby is survived by her children, Wayne Earl Wiggins (Pam), Teresa Faye Murdock, and Tina Denise Jenkins (Barney); as well as stepson Richard Smith (Toni) and stepdaughter Judy Conroy, 14 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Eugene Smith, daughters Billie Jean Wiggins, Joyce Marie Wiggins, Charlotte Ann Waters, and Betty Sue Garcia, grandchildren Tracey Lee Marcum II, Ronnie Cunningham, and Joseph Simms, as well as her parents JA Gilliard and Georgia Ann Moses Mitchell.

Donations in Ruby's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

A visitation for Ruby will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, Florida. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home. Ruby will be laid to rest at Shady Grove Cemetery, Wahneta, Florida.

Due to an allergy, the family requests that no peace lilies be sent.
