Stephen Leo, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, grew up in the golden era of the 1940’s and 1950’s. A natural athlete, he especially excelled in football and baseball. He was also a devoted fan of the Yankees, Islanders, Giants, and tennis legend Roger Federer.
Always in pursuit of knowledge, Steve voraciously consumed all things history, especially related to the Civil War. In retirement while living in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, he enjoyed classical music, landscape photography, and collecting WW-II era model planes.
But most importantly, Steve prioritized his family. He emphasized and instilled in his children core American values of hard work, integrity, individualism, and good citizenship.
Steve is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne, four children – John (sp. Van), Kevin (sp. Naina), Elizabeth (sp. James), and Keith (sp. Diana) – five grandchildren (Christopher, Marisa, Jasmine, Samantha, and Liam), and his brother Michael (sp. Miriam).
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the South Lake Animal League given his love of animals, especially dogs. The shelter is located at:

Our family wants to give special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Advent Health Apopka hospital for their support and care during Steve’s final days.
