On April 13, John Jones Jr., beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years young. John was born in Climax, GA to Mary & John Sr. and later joined the U.S. Army Corps in 1955. After serving, he moved to Florida, where he met his wife, Margaret. They married in 1959 and raised their son, John Jones lll, and later his two granddaughters, Nikki and Brittany. He worked for the State of Florida until his retirement from the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles.
John enjoyed being a handyman, planting gardens, fishing, camping and he loved animals. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in the city of Winter Garden, where he resided for over 40 years. He was most known for his sense of humor and pranks that kept everyone laughing. He was patient, kind, hardworking and could fix just about anything.
John is predeceased by his son, John Jones lll, his parents, and his 4 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, his granddaughters Nikki and Brittany, his sister, Sendy Brown and his 4 great grandchildren, Jordan, Boyd, Layna & Parker. He also had a full family of nieces and nephews that will miss him greatly.
A graveside service for John will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Winter Garden Cemetery, 13636 Lake Butler Blvd, Winer Garden, FL 34787.
