Joyce was the manager of the convenient store in Lewisville before beginning to work at the cafeteria in the local school system. She enjoyed the beach and taking car rides along the parkway to watch the leaves change each fall, but most of all she loved her family and spending as much time with them as she could, even traveling to Texas to visit them.
She was a fierce, strong, yet loving woman and will be missed by anyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Wooten, Jr.; son, Rodney Wooten; and brothers, Donnie Lee Dillard and Bev “Junior” Dillard. Joyce leaves behind her children, Cheryl Wooten and Stacy Wooten; grandchildren, Bridgett Murray, Nathan Wooten, Brandon Payne, and Robert Murray (Jessica); great grandchildren, Bryson, Melody, Nyomie, Lola, and Ella; sisters, Kay (Gary) Cossey of Armarillo, Texas, and Barbara Kovatch of Georgetown, Texas; as well as many other loved ones.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 11th from 5pm – 7pm at Vogler Funeral & Cremations. Joyce will be buried in a private service at Forsyth Memorial Park.
