Phyllis was born on December 27, 1946, in Mt. Airy, NC, to Cora and Glenn Murphy, both of whom preceded her in death. Her husband, Richard Sapp, passed away on 10/10/2002. Phyllis is survived by her five children, Kimberly Scott, Christopher Sapp, Diane Gantt, Andy Sapp, and John Sapp, son-in-law Mark Gantt, and daughter-in-law Maggie Sapp, and four grandchildren, Jackson Gantt, Carson Gantt, Helena Tilley, and Amelia Sapp. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family in Mt. Airy, Clemmons, Winston-Salem, and throughout NC who she cherished throughout her life.
Phyllis worked in banking for over forty years including First Home Federal, BB&T, and later at Truist where she retired. She was known for her hard work and dedication to her career, and she met many lifelong friends during that time.
Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her best friends, and they often had lunch together. She also loved her dog. She prioritized friends and family above all else.
The family will be accepting guests for a visitation on Monday, June 19, 2023, between the hours of 3 pm-8 pm in the home at 133 Stadium Oaks Drive in Clemmons, NC.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family will be accepting contributions via GoFundMe to help pay for a headstone. Phyllis will be cremated, and her remains will be buried at Forsyth Memorial Cemetery. https://gofund.me/989ac6c5
