Michael was born on November 14, 1967 to the late Elmer Richard Dymott, Jr. and the late Ida Mozelle Dymott in Forsyth County.
His years of early employment were with his family’s business Dymott’s Home Made Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop, security officer at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and 911 Communications Agent at Winston-Salem Police Department. Michael was always good with technology and learning how things worked. After years of self-taught skill with computers he earned his degree from Forsyth Technical Community College and established his career in the field of Information Technology. Michael worked as a network analyst/database administrator for Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Aramark, Sodexo, and Modern Automotive.
He would do anything for those around him and was known for his big smile. Michael was very generous and shared with those close to him. During his adolescence, he was a volunteer firefighter with Forest Hill Fire Department.
He nurtured his garden each year, growing fruits and vegetables and sharing those with friends and family. Michael loved to prepare food with his harvest as well as bake for those he loved. His wife was blessed by his talent in the kitchen and will miss his pound cake especially. He enjoyed time with his friends to homebrew beer, and also wine from the muscadine grapes in his garden.
Michael looked forward to annual trips with friends to deer hunt at Table Rock Mountain in the Pisgah National Forest and traveling to Cape Lookout at NC Outer Banks to fish. A special trip to Cape Lookout was shared with his wife in 2010. He was also an avid role-playing PC gamer of Ultima Online and World of Warcraft. His beloved pet dogs brought him joy and comfort: Sadie, Samwise, Dobie, Peyton, Tipper & Doge.
Michael leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Kara Jeanne Dymott; brother, Rick (Lisa) Dymott; mother-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Piechocki; siblings-in-law Brandon Stroh and Chris-Lyn Bush; niece and nephews, Abigail Dymott, Tyler Stroh, Cameron Davidson, Mason Bagwell, and Ethan Stroh; and numerous other loved ones.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at King Moravian Church on Sunday, November 17th at 2:30pm.
Michael always had so much love to give. Throughout their marriage, he and Kara fostered many feral cats and dogs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to FOSS, The Friends of Stokes Shelter, at https://www.friendsofstokesshelter.com/donate-.html
