Bettie W Brooks

Bettie Whitman Brooks, age 87, passed away peacefully September 13, 2024. She was born September 25, 1936, in Lewisville, North Carolina to the late Ray and Mozelle Whitman. She married Richard Brooks and celebrated 33 wonderful years of marriage. She Retired from Hanes Brands January 1995.

Bettie was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Clemmons, NC. When she became unable to attend church due to her mobility and health, she faithfully watched virtual services of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on Son Lite Broadcasting Station. She loved the lord with all her heart and read her Bible. She loved Gospel Music and found enjoyment watching the Gaither Videos and singing along with them. She made it a habit to purchase the latest Gaither Video release. Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Bettie is preceded in death by her husband, Richard E Brooks, and daughter, Debra Sue Hayes. Bettie is survived by her sons, Eddie R Hayes of Rural Hall and Robert William Hayes of Salisbury, Grandson, Jeffrey Scott Hayes of Winston Salem, Step Son, Richard E Brooks II, wife Shelly of High Point, Step Son Michael R. Brooks of Winston Salem, Step Daughter, Lisa M McGown and husband Greg of Winston Salem, Step Daughter, Tracy Nelson of Winston Salem. She is also survived by her 6 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren.

A graveside service for Bettie will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3815 Yadkinville Road, Winston Salem, North Carolina 27106.
