William Glen Parise (born Lezubski), a beloved husband and friend, passed away at the age of 56 on June 16, 2023 (his birthday) after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife Maria and her family (mother Antonietta, brother Salvatore, sister Assunta and her family Chris, Katie and Anna). He is also survived by his Aunt Elaine and Uncles Bryan and Robert, as well as cousins Rob (with wife Kim and children Ryan & Kaitlyn), Glen, Tammy (with husband Steve and children Emma & Alex), Dustin (with wife Jennifer and children Sara, Kaitlyn and Reid), Dean (and daughter Shelby).
Born in 1967 in Winnipeg, Bill attended West Kildonan Collegiate and grew up playing soccer and hockey in the Seven Oaks/Vince Leah community. Bill lived life to the fullest and cherished his time with his family and friends. He fondly remembered all of the Grand Beach days with his friends, where he created a clothing line called “Acid Splash” and sold his clothing in Grand Marais.
Bill travelled to British Columbia where he studied at Douglas College, and later worked at Cassidy’s Kitchen Supplies. He decided to head back to Winnipeg and attended Robertson College in 2000- where he earned his Travel Counsellor Diploma. It was in travel school where he met the love of his life, Maria – who later became his partner in marriage (2004) and his partner in business (Bill and Maria’s – The Traveling Agent.) Having celebrated their wedding in Varadero Cuba, Bill had the idea that he and Maria should specialize in destination weddings, which they have done so to this day. Bill and Maria both shared the same passion for travel and fun – work hard but play harder. Together they travelled to many destinations together, with his favorites being Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, and Las Vegas.
Outside of business, Bill was a loving doggie father to Bacardi, a serious music fan (with the band Kiss being his all-time favorite) and a determined “fun seeker” – always wanting to find time to get together with family and his large network of friends.
In October of 2021, Bill was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a disease that he fought with courage and determination. He underwent chemotherapy and other treatments, but unfortunately, his condition continued to worsen.
Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy of humour, kindness, generosity, and hard work will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to St. Boniface Hospital, to his oncologist Dr. Daeninck, and the amazing staff on 8A, especially those who had cared for him in his last 24 hours. Your care and attention will forever be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Bill's honour at 7:00pm on June 28th, at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home Winnipeg, Manitoba 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
