NOVEMBER 21, 1941 – NOVEMBER 12, 2011
It is great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bill at the Health Science Centre, just nine days before with 70th birthday.
He was predeceased by his parents Herman Moore, Neddie Van Someren (Moore, Johnston), Browning Van Someren, special Aunts, Maude and Barbara Johnston and Clarissa Kurth.
Left to forever cherish Bill’s memory are his son Hugh (grandchildren Alexa, Theo, and Ethan) of Cranbrook, BC daughters jake moore (Steve Bates), Stefanie Moore all of Montreal, QC, as well as their mother Elizabeth Moore, brother John (Sandra), all of Winnipeg, sister Lorraine (Rick) Lahnert of Calgary, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was born in Brandon, graduated in business from Red River Community College where he was President of the student union. He was diagnosed with MS at an early age and lived with the disease for many years. Despite decreasing and limiting his mobility it could not deter his constant desire to cope with life as best he could.
The family would like to thank his home care workers, hospital staff and doctors at Health Sciences and Victoria Hospitals, the staff at Seine River Retirement Residence and the many medical and social assistance agencies for the help and attention given Bill for these many years.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made in Bill’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
There will not be a funeral at this time but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. May he at last be at rest and we too, in his absence, find solace.
