Bill passed away peacefully at Poseidon Care Center on December 23, 2023. He was born April 4, 1932 at the family farm in Methven, Manitoba. His early education was in Wawanesa and after high school, he attended United College and The University of Manitoba where he graduated in 1956 with degree in Pharmacy. He later purchased a drugstore in River Heights, which he renamed Dixon’s Pharmacy, where he worked and served the community for many years.
Bill was on the board of the Heart and Stroke Recovery Association and was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
After selling his business. Bill continued working part-time until his retirement.
In his leisure time, enjoyed travelling, sailing and football but his favourite outings were with family and friends at Pelican Lake.
Bill was predeceased in 2014 by Joyce, his beloved wife of 57 years and sister Lillian. Bill will be sadly missed by his brothers Merv and Ron and sisters Doreen and Joyce, as well as many sisters-and brothers-in -law, nephews, nieces and friends.
A graveside service will take Neepawa at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Bill's memory to the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba, B-247 Provencher Blvd. Winnipeg, MB R2H 0G6, or to a charity of your choice.
