Wesley Robert Warring Bennett

1924 – 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our dad, Wes Bennett on April 8, 2017 at Grace Hospital.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Roy (Susan), daughters Wesley (Bill), Kathy (Barry), Barb (Gerry), grandchildren Deanne (Tina), Julie (Taylor), Jordan (Tiana), Maria (Chris), brother Maurice and seven great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his very special friend Gail Paseska.

Dad was predeceased by his father Frank in 1969 mother Edith in 1978, brother Neil in 1987, sisters Beatrice in 2001 and Muriel in 2012.

Dad was born in Semans, Saskatchewan on June 30, 1924 and stayed on the farm until 1938. He travelled to many places while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces with his last posting in Gimli, Manitoba. In retirement, he loved spending family time at the cottage he built. Dad left Winnipeg for a few years before returning in 2006 to his family here.

Dad enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during birthdays and holidays. He was very proud of his family and took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be preferred.
