Sherry passed away peacefully at home at the age of 79, with her family by her side on February 8, 2021.
Sherry was born and raised in Elm Creek, Manitoba. She had a long and fulfilling career as an LPN at Park Manor Personal Care Home where she met and remained close friends with many of her colleagues. Sherry was extremely passionate about the care of the residents and treated each of them as if they were family for over 30 years.
Sherry is survived by her daughters, Tammy Fraser (Randy), Tracy Harper (James), granddaughters, Lindsay Krcmar (Ivan), Cara Harper, Cortney Harper (Rod), Ali Fraser (Taso Harbis), Dani Fraser and great grandsons, Madden and Avery Krcmar and Luca Harbis, sister, Jackie Hopkins and many nieces and nephews.
Sherry would light up at the chance to brag about her daughters, son’s in law, grandkids and great-grandkids! When talking about her grand dogs, Domino and Maci, you would think they were people too! She was never too tired or busy to indulge her grandchildren with her famous back tickles or to be there for anyone in need. She was a fiercely dedicated mom and grandmother. Family was above all else, a value she instilled in all those around her. Our mom loved big and inspired all her girls to be the best that we could be.
Sherry remained extremely active walking, biking, hiking, traveling, and gardening until her diagnosis no longer allowed. This past summer she continued to garden to share her homegrown vegetables and herbs even though she was unable to enjoy the fruits of her labor herself.
Our most heartfelt thank you to the team of Angels at the ALS and Palliative Care programs. Their support and care of our mom and propping us up with such grace, respect and genuine caring through this journey was invaluable.
You were an angel in the shape of our mom - Ed Sheeran
