Many others are also saddened by the loss of "Aunty Betty," who loved and treated each as one of her own.
Mom was not afraid of hard work and doing what she needed to support her family. Of the many jobs she had, she particularly enjoyed working at the Victoria General Hospital, where she retired from after 25 years of service.
Mom also worked at the Royal Canadian Legion (Fort Garry), and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She was generous and caring, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was quick to lend a hand to those in need.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Betty will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2014 at 10:00 am at St Paul's Anglican Church, 830 North Drive, Fort Garry. Reverend Canon Geoff Woodcroft will preside. A private family interment at Waverley Memorial Gardens will take place after the service.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Victoria General Hospital Floor 4 South, and in particular Dr. Heather Watson-Burgess for the care and compassion provided to our Mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
