Kerry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maggie, his father Len Anderson (Elaine), sons Curtis (Terry), Matthew (Julia), Clinton, Scott and daughter Tara Freedy (Chris).
He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren - his namesake – Owen Ross Anderson and his little ballerinas Morley and Casey Anderson. He had a special place in his heart for his sister, Melissa Anderson and his niece Sammie Pidsadny.
Kerry began his law enforcement career as a Constable with the Winnipeg Police Department and left WPD to work with troubled kids at the Manitoba Youth Center where he spent 30 years which he enjoyed immensely until his retirement in January 2017.
Kerry’s greatest joy in life was his love of all animals, big and small. Known as the “deer whisperer” and “Dr. Dolittle”, he would feed the deer every night at our home in the country and they would all be waiting in a circle for him to come out. We had a home full of animals that had been abandoned or sick. He always had birds and rabbits recovering from some injury in our sunroom. And of course, his beloved little pugs Ivy, Izzy and Piper along with his Parrot Buzz are all missing him terribly.
A sports enthusiast, Kerry had Bomber Season Tickets for years and enjoyed going to games with his dad. Although he loved his Bombers and the Winnipeg Jets, he also loved his Montreal Canadians and was a life time fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His passion in life was golf. As members of Elm Creek Scotswood Links, we spent many beautiful days golfing and enjoying every moment. As a Nascar fan, we made numerous visits to Florida for the Daytona 500 and some “winter” golf.
Anyone that truly knew Kerry and loved Kerry needs to know he loved you all unconditionally.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Cancer Care Manitoba for their kindness, caring and support throughout Kerry’s 18 month battle. We would also like to say a special thank you to Steve and Cathy Garrett and Ross Barron-McNabb for their constant love and support. Hardly a day would go by without Kerry receiving a call from them.
At Kerry’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If desired, contributions can be made in Kerry’s name to Cancer Care.
God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you, and whispered, “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating – Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best

To my beloved husband:
You never said I’m leaving – you never said goodbye.
You were gone before I knew it – and only God knew why.
A million times I needed you, a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place, that no one could ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone.
For part of me went with you, the day God took you home.
“Your Maggie”
