He is survived by his daughter Ann; sons Henry (Marion), Jake (Debbie); daughters Linda (Wendell), Helen (Brad); son Vic (Karin); daughters in law Janet, and Karin; 19 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren.
Jacob was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Agatha (Block), sons John and Walter, and his son in law Richard Penner.
Jacob was born January 8, 1924 in Franztal, Ukraine. After World War 2 he immigrated to Canada in 1947, married Agatha in 1949 and settled down to raise his family.
Dad enjoyed woodworking and loved to build things for his grandchildren. He was a member of the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Rd, Winnipeg. A private family burial will follow.
