It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing or our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother on October 9, 2014 at the St. Boniface General Hospital.
Dianna was born in Winnipeg on March 12, 1947, the eldest of two daughters born to Albert Robie (deceased) and Margaret Smallenberg (deceased). Dianna grew up in Winnipeg and remained here for most of her life.
Her happiest memories come from the time spent throughout her life with family and friends at Matlock Beach.
Dianna is survived by her three children, Lisa Hill (Jason), Tyson Brennen (Kristen), and Bradley Brennen (Danielle), her two grandchildren Gabrielle and Nicholas Hill who were dear to her heart, and her devoted sister Dawn Tucker.
Diana was predeceased by her son William “Willy” Brennen, who after 43 years will once again be in his mother’s loving embrace.
Dianna’s health suffered greatly in her last years and so often it is difficult to see past the person in front of us to the person that they truly are. We sometimes forgot that she was a brilliant, strong, beautiful and courageous woman who raised three children as a single parent and provided for all of their needs, often sacrificing her own. Dianna was fun and full of life, she had a crazy and mischievous side and loved playing pranks and laughing with her friends. She loved clothes, shoes, music and dancing. Mom was an amazing cook and it was impossible to leave her table before seconds or even thirds of one of her signature dishes. Dianna was always there to lend a hand or an ear to friends and family and helped care for her father and uncle in their later years. Mom was in a word amazing and she is greatly missed.
Her family would like to thank all of the healthcare professionals that helped to care for her these last years, with a special thank you to the staff of 5B and the Dialysis Team.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB.
