Betty was born in Newfoundland where she met the love of her life Pres, who was stationed there with the air force. Married for 66 years they were blessed with 5 children, Allan (Donna), Patricia Lowe (Stephen), Bob (Sue), Mary Brown, and Margaret Hamel (Ron 1996). She was the beloved grandmother to Jennifer Virgili, Paul McMillan (1995), Jason Brown (Christine), Sean Lowe (Jadranka), Kimberly Brown, Ken McMillan (Erin), Amanda Blanchard (Brad), and Tamara Lowe (Jay). Betty was the loving great-grandmother to Tristan, Alanna, Trinity, Natalina, Preston, Bradley, Bryn, Andrew, Jeremy, Sydney, Zachary, and the late Jennifer. She is survived by her sister Myrtle (Les) Hayden and her sister-in-law Violet Brown. Predeceased by her brothers Walter and Reginald Brown and her sister Sarah (George) Atkinson. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and reading. She wasn't extravagant and took pleasure in the simple things in life with her faith to carry her through the troubled times. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue, (519) 254-3223 on Wednesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 5145 Wyandotte St. E. on Thursday April 5, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11a.m. If desired, memorial donations made to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County would be appreciated by the family.Thank you to all of Betty's caregivers at C.C.A.C.,The Grand View, and especially Hospice.
