Predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years George (2022). Survived by her sister Joanne Hebert, sisters-in-law Gail Hebert and Carol Hebert, many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Barbara was a kind and generous woman and an amazing daughter, sister, friend and Aunt to her many nieces and nephews who she cared for and mentored through the years.
Barbara was born in Windsor in 1933 to parents Raoul and Jeanne Hebert (nee Charette).
Immediately after high school Barbara went to work for the Rose family at their furniture store on Ouellette avenue and later transitioned to the Rose Bowl lanes as bookkeeper and office manager. Barbara worked for the Rose family for 57 years, finally retiring at the age of 74. She loved her work and was never all that interested in retirement. Barbara was a classic bowler playing with the best in the city. She carried a high average and was also a wonderful coach to her nieces and nephews. She was an active person up until her last day. Barbara loved to be outdoors, playing cards, working puzzles and connecting with neighbors, friends and family.
George and Barbara maintained a family cottage at Rondeau Provincial Park, spending most of their spring, summer and fall free time there. In between cottage time they loved to travel, especially visiting relatives across the USA and Canada.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends of Rondeau (https://rondeauprovincialpark.ca/donate/) and/or Hearts for Haiti through the Javelin Education and Medical fund (https://javelinfund.ca/northern-haiti) would be appreciated by the family.
At Barbara’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.
