Born in Campton, Walton County, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Carl and Naomi Spinks Gasaway. He was retired from Piedmont Builders, was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church, and was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Gasaway was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Steed Gasaway. He was the last survivor of eight children.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie (Debra) Gasaway, Winder; daughter, Kathy (Sammy) Everett, Winder; grandchildren, Rodney and Shellie Gasaway, Vickie Reynolds and Chad Garrett; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, at 2 p.m., from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Terry Tippens officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Christian Church cemetery.
