Samuel Wade Grizzle

Samuel Wade Grizzle, age 74 of Statham, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Statham and a 1968 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School, where he was the Senior Class President. Wade proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He served on the Statham City Council when he was 21 years old. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 163 in Statham. Wade was an Evangelist and a Bible College graduate. He was a businessman who had various businesses over the years.

Wade was predeceased by his parents, Relle and Samuel "Quilla" Grizzle. He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Will) Matteson and Abigail Grizzle. Wade is also survived by his brother, Gary (Marsha) Grizzle and sister, Shirlee Kinsey-Evans, both of Statham; grandchildren: Cassidy Matteson and Courtney Matteson; nieces and nephews: Drew Kinsey, Andrea Grizzle, and Sam Grizzle; and great nephews: Brady Kinsey and Luke Kinsey.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 29 from noon until 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder. The Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel, with Donnie Pennington officiating.
