Kim B. McBerry

Kimberly Bernadette McBerry, age 61, of Winder, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Kim was born at Atlanta’s Grady Hospital in 1962 and was raised by her Grandmother Corine Thrasher and Aunt Mary Perry. She was a lifelong Georgia resident and raised her children in a Baptist home. She loved spending time with her family, specifically her grandchildren. She loved taking them on trips and vacations and hosting them for sleep overs. Her heart was her grandbabies. Kim will also be remembered for her love of television programs, specifically “I Love Lucy” and “The Andy Griffith Show.” She also enjoyed watching Wrestling and was a fan of Ric Flair, WOOOO!!! She loved traveling and had a passion to visit anywhere new. She was a “Coca-Cola drinkin’, cheese eatin’ with a Reese’ Cup on the side” woman.

In addition to her grandmother and aunt, Kim is preceded in passing by her parents, Daniel Darbonne and Lila Thrasher.

Kim is survived by her sons Brad (Kyra) Edwards, Tim (Erica) Edwards, and Michael Edwards; daughter-in-heart Valerie (Matt) Lichtenwalner; grandchildren: Cheyanne Love, Chandler Kettering, Alex Edwards, Ally Edwards, Rachel Lichtenwalner, Cameron Edwards, David Lichtenwalner, Parker Edwards, Bentley Mathis, Blaine Edwards and Owen Lichtenwalner; and brother Jeff Darbonne

A visitation for Kim will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM in the chapel.
