John David Lyle, Jr., of Winder, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. He was born on September 20, 1970, in Atlanta, GA. David graduated from Winder Barrow High School and Georgia State University. He was a past Master of the Auburn Masonic Lodge and was proud to earn the 32nd Degree. He was employed with HP, Inc. where he enjoyed helping co-workers and meeting clients all over the world. Affectionately known as Big D to his family, he loved spending time with his family and his puppy, Levi Garrett Long-cut Lyle (“Puppers”), working on his family’s farm, camping and fishing with his nephew, Nato, and singing to & napping with his babies. Big D was very devoted to his family. He will be remembered forever and missed immeasurably.
He is preceded by his parents, John D. and Violette Elliott Lyle; his grandparents, Roy and Annie Lyle and John Olin and Thelma Elliott; and sister, Thelma Joanne (Jody) Lyle.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie, and their children, Marie Lyle Elliott and Dylan, of Jefferson, GA, John David Lyle, III and Katlyn, of Winder, GA, and Jacob Lyle and Taylor, of Winder, GA; and grandchildren, Audrey Elliott, Sadie Lyle, Ellie Elliott, and Jacob Daniel Lyle, Jr.; his sisters: Connie Lyle O’Brien and John, Vicki Lyle Walker, Beth Lyle Magness and Ronnie, Jill Lyle Deal, Marisa Lyle Durden and Randy, and Amy Lyle Bishoff and Reg. He had 14 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
An intimate family gathering was held July 1st, 2022, at Smith Funeral Home. Big D’s advice to everyone was to do something extraordinary.
