Forever an entertainer, Joanne Good Daniels now has an audience of Heaven. Joanne lived a full life of 91 years and passed peacefully on February 20, 2023. Born in Gainesville, GA in 1931, she relocated to Winder as a child with her family. Joanne graduated from Winder Barrow High School. She studied drama at the University of Georgia before attending LaGrange College, where she completed her Master’s in Education.
Joanne was invited to visit Hollywood by relatives to gain experience in film, and after returning to Atlanta, she pursued acting full-time, became a member of the “Screen Actors Guild”, and made many friends in the industry. She appeared on stage often. One of the highlights of her career was a comedy role with the “Wits End Players”. Based in Atlanta, the group became widely popular and toured around the country. Joanne taught speech and voice lessons to young actors. In the late 80s and 90s, Joanne’s voice was the recorded “time and temperature”, and the “operator’s” voice for many telephone companies. She had small roles in television shows filmed in Atlanta, including, “In the Heat of the Night”. Joanne always wore a smile and was a positive and joyous influence to those around her.
Joanne is preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Turner Good; father, Grady E. Good, Sr.; and her brother, Grady E. Good, Jr. Joanne is survived by her nephew, Kenneth E. Good; nieces: Karee Good Thomas and Kea Good Fifer; sister-in-law, Mary Parker Good; as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at Smith Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. A memorial service will be held in Smith Memory Chapel immediately following the visitation at 2:00 pm.
