James Nathaniel Hall, age 75, passed away on February 22, 2022. Mr. Hall was the son of the late Clarence David Hall and Hattie Daisy Bradley Hall. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Linda Hammond Hall, and daughter Tammy Moore. Survivors include his children: Rex (Anita) Hall and Patti (Timmy) Powell; 10 grandchildren; and16 great-grandchildren.
Nat, as family and friends called him, was a devoted husband, father, and gramps. He was one of the hardest working men around, owning a business for many years (CD Hall and Son), maintaining a farm, and always giving a helping hand when needed. He was the best example of what a loving husband and father should be and a true example of love. He was also patient, kind, slow to anger, humble, and protective. His family looked up to him in so many ways.
Although hard working, Nat would often take time to relax, going to the casino, taking his family on cross country trips in their van, or driving to Panama City Beach, FL, just to enjoy a T-Bone steak from Angelo's.
Nat was full of wisdom and didn't mind sharing. If you had the pleasure of knowing him, you probably have a story to share that involved something he taught you or some advice that he shared. Sometimes his "wisdom" would be followed by a million-dollar grin because he knew it would get a rise. If you ever mentioned needing chapstick of had an ache or pain, he would point you to the pasture for his untested cure-all of cow manure.
Other than his family and friends, Nat loved a good Western novel, a cold Dr. Pepper (best be in a can), and a good BBQ sandwich.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Smith Funeral Home, Winder, has charge of the arrangements.
