Henrietta “Rita” Morgan Pettis, age 72, of Monroe, GA, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. She was a devoted member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Statham, GA. Rita loved her family dearly, and she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry Lee Morgan and Dora Murphy Stinchcomb; her son, Jimmy Wade Fullerton; and her spouse, Charles J. Pettis. Survivors include two sons, Charles Lee (Tammy) Pettis of Lawrenceville and Jerry Wayne (Marina) Pettis of Monroe, GA; one daughter, Rita Faye Pettis of Winder, GA; two brothers, two sisters, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, on Thursday, May 16, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home on Friday, May 17, 2013 with Reverend Hal Tapp officiating. The burial will follow the service at Hill Haven Memory Gardens, Monroe. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
