Betty J. Smith age 76 of Winder, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. She was of the Christian faith. Betty retired from The City of Winder Police Department as a dispatcher after many dedicated years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Jessie Taylor Pless; her husband of 22 Years, Charles Smith and a son, Kenneth Smith. Betty is survived by three sons, Joel Smith, Roger Smith (Lucy) and Joshua Smith all of Winder; six grandchildren, Jason King, Keara, Charley, Megan and Connor Smith and Jessica Osburn and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 6 until 9PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral services will be at 2PM Monday, July 30, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Ray K. Fumea officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mrs. Betty Smith to the Alzheimer's Association. Smith Funeral Home of Winder is in charge of the arrangements.
