Barbara Ruth Nichols

Barbara Ruth Nichols, age 81, of Winder, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born on December 14, 1942 in Ohio to the late Robert and Mildred Teets. Barbara was a member of Bethlehem Church and one of her favorite times of the week was game day there. She loved cooking and everyone loved when she cooked. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her daughter Joyce Hughes; sisters: Paula and Terry; and brother Webb. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Jerry Nichols; Daughters: Chantelle (Andy) Wall of Hoschton, GA and Shelia Nichols of Wartburg, TN; sons: Kevin Nichols of Wartburg, TN and Michael (Luann) Nichols of Wartburg, TN; son-in-law Eric Hughes of Canton, GA; sister Faye; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be Friday, April 12,2024 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA. Rev. Drew Cheney of Bethlehem Church 211 Campus will be officiating. Barbara will be inurned in the new Mausoleum toward the rear of the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name to St Jude Children’s Hospital or to the Bethlehem Church Community Outreach Program. These were both very special to her.
