It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Lorraine Marilyn Brown, a beloved wife to Gasford for 38 years, devoted mother to Janae and Joelle (son-in-law Max), cherished sister to Neville, Angela, Jacqueline and Trevor and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She departed this life on the 10th day of December, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family and her Creator.
Lorraine Marilyn Brown was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Artemas and Sylvia Neil on January 7, 1963. She and Gasford were married on July 19, 1986 in Kingston, Jamaica. Professionally, Lorraine was a Registered Nurse, but retired in 1996 to focus on being mother in which she found great delight.
She was a woman of unwavering faith whose life was a testament to the goodness and grace of God. Her faith in The Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior was her foundation, and she found continued comfort and strength in the Word of God. She actively participated in her Church of fellowship where she taught Sunday School and led or participated in various service ministries. She was a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) group Leader and was also an Auxiliary in the Gideons International, where she held various leadership roles over the years. The Name Immanuel (God with us), is the name of God that was most precious to her, and the words "nothing wasted", became the theme and focus of her life during her battle with cancer.
Psalm 116:15 resonates deeply with her life and passing: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.”
