She was born on April 28, 1939 in Lenoir County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Luke and Annie Bell Brown. She was also preceded in death by her son, Murray Lee Norris, Jr and daughter, Karla Norris Williams.
She was the owner and operator of Shirley’s Burger House until her retirement. After her retirement, she traveled the countryside in a mobile home for 10 years, along with her husband and soul mate, Murray Lee Norris, Sr. She loved to dance and spend time with her family and friends. She loved the Lord and was always friendly to everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Murray Lee Norris, Sr; daughters, Scott and Cindy Caroll and Bryan and Tammie Hardee; grandchildren, Bridget, Tara, Scotty, and Kendra; great-grandchildren, Wade and Carter; and special cousin Lisa. She is also survived by her sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 with Pastor Larry Horrell, Jr. officiating. Graveside service will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Hardee, Cary Reese, Dustin Wright, Scott Caroll, Scotty Caroll, and Stazi Groome.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
